Our doctors participate with most major insurance plans. However, it is important that you provide accurate and current insurance information and alert us of any changes immediately. Although we are affiliated with Montefiore Medical Center in that our doctors have admitting privileges there as well as access to the Hospital electronic chart system, our office keeps its own separate records and we do not always participate in the same insurance plans as the hospital-employed doctors.

Outpatient endoscopic procedures at the recently built, state of the art, Advanced Endoscopy Center (AEC), a fully licensed and accredited (by AAAHC - Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) endoscopic ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The center has been recognized as a National Center of Excellence by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program, demonstrating the center's commitment to excellence, quality and safety in endoscopic procedures. The AEC and its anaesthesiologists will also generate their own bills as part of any endoscopic procedure, which may involve co-payments and applicable deductibles.

Our office pathology laboratory receives, processes and interprets biopsy specimen from endoscopic procedures for patients whose insurance plan participates with the facility and our Pathologist. This also may generate a charge.

It is the patient's responsibility to check with their insurance regarding participation, deductibles and co-payments related to office visits and endoscopic procedures. Should there be any question, discrepancy or unexpected charge, please call our office and ask to speak to our Billing Manager who can assist in explaining any bills and/or refer you to the proper person for more information. In some situations, a payment plan can be agreed upon if needed to extend the length of time in which a bill is fully paid.
